Ingredients: 1 pound quality bacon 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup 2 tablespoons good quality honey 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt Using the best quality ingredients in this recipe is key! Enjoy! | Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil (I doubled up just to avoid a bacon grease nightmare), and place a wire rack on top. In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients. Separate the strips of bacon, add to the bowl, and gently toss until all of the bacon is fully coated. Place on the wire rack, and cook for approximately 20 minutes. This bacon will brown because of the sweeteners, but give it the full amount of time. You want it to be more like candy than a chewy slice of bacon! Once you remove from the oven, dab on paper towels to remove some of the grease, return to the wire rack, and allow to cool completely. |
When you can't have a cheese board... you have got to get creative. This is the perfect thing to bring to a cocktail party - it is so fun and different. I also made a ton to crumble over my lunch salads all week long, which, two days in, has been such a treat.
