And you know what, I am getting pretty tired of the loud printed paper napkins that have held the place of my linen napkins for years now.
All of a sudden, I am in my favorite home store in D.C. picking out bedding I only dream about for a client last week, and I see the solution. There is a roll (yes, a roll... literally) of disposable cotton or linen cocktail napkins. There are 50 per roll! They are 27 bucks! They can be washed and re-used 6 times!! If I decide I want hot pink linen napkins that I know I won't want forever, but dangit I want them for this one party?? They're mine.
This time around I went with a pretty grey-blue with a white stitch trim. They go with my current apartment. Key word: current ;)
Proper linens are important. The company is Mydrap, and they have everything from place mats, to luncheon napkins, to cocktail napkins.
Ingredients: 6 ounces champagne 1 teaspoon quality pure maple syrup (not pancake syrup!) Slice of lemon peel for garnish if desired | The perfect ratio for this drink is the 1 teaspoon to 6 ounces, and luckily, a champagne glass is typically designed for a 6 ounce pour! Either way, stick to the 1 teaspoon of maple syrup. It is best as a hint of maple, instead of the proportions of a mimosa or Bellini! Just place a teaspoon in the bottom of the glass, and then fill with the champagne. Easy as that. |
